Supplemental Air Conditioning

My wife and I are in Oklahoma and the temps are running 98-103 degrees. We are looking into getting a portable AC unit to help. We have two 15K air conditioners, the main is ducted but we keep the quick cool open to reduce the air to the other part of the camper. The bedroom is not ducted and it cools the bed room bathroom and hall nicely it is the rest of the camper that gets in the mid to upper 70's on the worst days. we have found several people that have used portable AC in there campers with some success in helping. Does anyone have any suggestions in how may SQ foot or manufacture.

With two 15k Btuh units I think I'd be looking at the partition between the supply and return air to see if it's intact and sealed up. And even though you have the quick-cool dump open the A/C is still dumping air into the duct, so I'd check it to make sure it's closed up on the ends and not crushed. I know it's an older unit, but I'd still check it all out.

Have you tried using fans to move the air around to the places that are not cooling? There are always pockets that are not reached by the AC. You can up your efficiency by moving more air.

What temperature are you trying to achieve? At the outside temperatures you are experiencing daily your Ac's seem to be doing as much cooling as they can. A portable unit will surely help, but may cause you amperage issues.

I would try to use a separate 20 or 30 amp receptacle at your power box if they are available with a proper sized cord.

I would like to suggest you or somebody does a leak test of the system. Just this past weekend I stumbled on a bunch of foil tape that had left loose I was blowing a lot of air into the roof truss area. This would happen on quick cool or ducked.
