Switch to a twist lock power cable?

I get tired of fighting with the power cord on our trailer (and on the last one) - shoving 15' of cable back in the hole. I am thinking of using this twist lock conversion kits.

Has anyone done this conversion? If so, is it a good kit? Any other options?

I have, for your reason and that it was a rodent highway. They don't call that port a mouse hole for nothing!

There's a full write up on my website. This was done on our previous travel trailer, a Starcraft.

I had that Marinco type on my previous TT and liked it. The only problem I saw was one night in a CG someone went through and stole a half dozen or so of those cords.

Thanks folks, I appreciate the feedback!

Hard to believe that somebody would go around stealing power cords but I guess if there's a buck to be made, somebody will try and steal it. Maybe I'll figure out a cable lock for it!

A few years back they cut off all the power cords from the campers at our local RV dealership. ...... Copper thieves were a big problem........

Marinco Conversion

This was one of the first mods to my new TT. I saw stuffing a 30 ft cord through the mouse hole to be both a potential problem [critter entry] and a pain in the butt.

I took the cut off cord and added a female end and have a 28 ft. extension cord that I've used a couple of times.

It is/was a great mod.
