Television for Bedroom

Looking to buy a television for the bedroom of our QBOK. To this point we just bring one from home sometimes or just do without it, we are not full timers. I'd like to get one and mount it in the bedroom. Just looking for suggestions on how crazy I should get.

Smart TV? I'm thinking no because most of the campgrounds we go to only have a crummy cable hookup and if I'm not mistaken it is bad form to suck up the park wifi for streaming and most of them have poor wifi anyway.

Size? Considering a 32". Would like to mount it above the dresser so I'm not sure what is too big for a small room.

Resolution? Have seen some over the air antennas that supposedly get HD programming. Not sure how much we would get where we go but if that's the case I guess it would be nice to have the tv look good. We also might hook up a DVD or Blu Ray player on occasion.

Any opinions would be helpful.

You're right, smart TV's are pretty much useless in campgrounds, but I do use mine when I am parked at home.
All OTA television broadcasts are HD these days. If you have the "bow tie" antenna, it will work just fine, but there is an optional attachment that just clips on to the antenna that actually works.
The available selection of televisions these days is downright dizzying. About all I can suggest is you will appreciate having a refresh rate of 120 Hz and at least a 1080p display. I am not conversant with the new 4K displays to address them.
And I don't think 32" is too big for the bed room.
Enjoy!

I get the part about bandwidth and wi fi at the CG. Anybody have knowledge on how effective (providing you have cellphone signal) the hotspot feature on a smartphone would work with either a smart TV or ROKU device?

Mount? Depends on your available spots. I made a custom mount, removed a door and bolted the TV over the opening. It allowed us to get a 22 inch LED TV in instead of the 12 inch if I used the factory location. Should I decide to remove it, there are no marks, takes me about 30 minutes to return everything to factory look.

Hotspot will work fine if you receive a 4g signal. Save the money on a smart TV and buy a streaming stick. If you do go the stick route, stay away from roku. Chromecast and FireStick are much quicker/reliable/better vid quality. Also, you cannot use PlaystationVue as a streaming service unless you are a park camper, their software will not let you stream anywhere other then your home network.

Keeping that in mind, no matter what service you use, you can download the apps and stream from them.

i.e. you use PlaystationVue, and TBS is in your package. You can't stream on PlaystaionVue outside of your network, but if you download the TBS app, and sign in with your PlaystationVue credentials, you can stream it on the app.

If it were me Id look at where I intended to mount it, look at whether I wanted to be able to move it (like outside maybe) and size the TV according to what area I have how far from it I would be while watching it and what mount to use if I wanted to be able to move it.

We don't have a TV in our bedroom becasue we only go in there to sleep after watching TV in the living area. We ARE talking about getting one though so we can mount it outside or set it on a table near the outside cable feed.

Good Luck
