The Suburban SF30 with a bad case of wasps.

I had my first experience with the problems that wasps can create and thought I'd share. The fan was completely frozen with about a half pound of mud.

I spent a good hour chiseling away with a putty knife and vacuum. I'll test it out tomorrow. I'm installing a screen to keep them out.

Testing finally happened and I'm happy to report that it fired up and works.

Good that you got it fixed.

I have read that those screens are not recommended (probably 'cuz of the lawyers), but I use them. It is better than the risk from the mud wasps doing that.

I'm guessing that is why they are not recommended, but I put one on anyway. I guess I could remove it if I'm using the furnace but I don't see any reason to do so.
