Trailer Oven Question

I just got a 2012 Stealth Evo and was unable to get the pilot light up. It is an Amana 3- burner stove. We pulled up the owner's manual online and followed the instructions, but it still would not light. Does anyone have any experience with this particular stove?

We have a trip coming up and there is no way the dealer can fix it in time.

I don't have your model, but would assume its similar to the oven we have. It is a pain and sometimes takes a while to light.Others might chime in, I would think bad thermalcoupple and or disconnected wire?

generally when I have problems getting my pilot light lit it is due to air in the gas line. I make sure my stove vent is open, then light a burner on the stove and let this burn for a minute, then try the pilot light again.

I place a small flashlight on the oven door so I can see inside better and then will attempt to light the oven. When I see the small red glow I still keep the pilot light knob pressed in for about 20-30 seconds before moving the knob to the select temperature.

Sometimes my oven can be a pain to light too. When this happens I also light a burner on the stove and try again to light the oven.

Common problem - been around for ages (and one I WISH the industry engineers would find a solution to!)

The most common "fix" for this is to light 1 or 2 of your burners and let them burn for a few seconds. This "Primes" the propane line to your stove. You should be able to easily light your oven pilot light now.

(FYI, DW usually does this and she is in the habit of just leaving ther burner on until the oven pilot light is lit)

P.S. if you can get to your unit before your next trip you can turn on the propane and try this tip to determine if it was air in the lines or if you do have a faulty oven -- I am inclined to bet on air in the lines though

Always takes me a while to get the pilot lit as well. But I rarely use my oven.
