TV Antenna Removal

Has anyone removed their exterior "crank up" TV antenna ?
We removed the TV from our unit and don't see much point in having the TV antenna. Just wondering if there is an easy disconnect point without compomising the water tight seals to the trailer.

Paul, it's usually a good idea to tell us what RV you have. Putting that into your Signature and/or Profile information is good.

Assuming you have a Winegard instead of a Jack or other brand, here is the manual. Look at step 6. Seems like you could just take the head off.

I would definitly not try to remove the whole outside antenna as there will be a lot of holes to patch up

I wish I understood when/how the app decides to show signatures. I had to go to the site to see yours.

I think you can only see signatures on the forum.
-assuming the user control panel "CP" signature option is used and the "edit options" - "thread display options" are set to show signatures.

The app shows some, sometimes, but not most. It's really weird.

If you really want to remove the antenna, here's a link to the installation manual from Winegard's site. Should be able to determine how to remove from these instructions... http://www.winegard.com/kbase/upload/2451808.pdf

I'd cover the area with piece of galvanized plate installed with butyl tape and lap sealent and/or eternabond tape.
