Hawg Hunter So far if only had one site I could not get pass the trees. It was down in a holler that a 100 ft. Cable would not help to get pass the trees. Been lucky so far I guess. I have no call ables on the ground that I need to worry about someone tripping over. No worries here mate. There are alot of great ideas on the topic.

I recently purchased a Winegard Carryout for my Direct Tv. Once I learned the setup steps for the direct box, I anticpate it will taw about 2 mins to pull out the auto dish and hook up the power and cable. it's easy as 1-2-3. I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Hawg Hunter,
a couple of more points if I may.

When you set up that tripod, put one leg directly behind the dish. That way you only need to change one leg's leveling to change elevation. (The other two legs then are primarily skew.)

Put heavy tent-stakes (nails) into the legs, or use some other method (center weight) to tie it down. If you don't you *will* get a wind which will knock it over and cause damage.

Guys this is awesome knowledge. Doug P47 I know bout them hollers. We use to take them city boys Snipe hunting in them. All they came back with was the sack and wet pants. If you know what I mean. Great info also Barry. 10-4 on the tent stakes. Going to give my Dish 1000 and tri pod a few more shots. If don't get better I'm going the Winnguard route because come SEC football time there needs to be two TV's going. House divided she's from Indiana God bless herb. Have a great Sunday y'all.

Trees?

We don't park under tree's after last halloween in Harpers Ferry when a storm blew in and a tree limb came crashing down on a site near us and broke his 5th wheel in half. With family in side we got them out but trailer was hauled away as trash . Give open fields any day I have AC.
