TV wont pick up cable

We have a 2017 Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BHS that has a Furrion TV. It works fine on antenna, but if hooked to cable (yes, I chose "cable" on the TV menu) it doesn't pick up any cable channels. It runs a channel search, finds none, then goes back to a blue screen with "run channel search" again. When I called the front desk, thinking it was their problem, the tech told me Furrion TVs wont work with their cable. Anyone else have this problem and is there a fix?

Turn the antenna boost off, you should see a plate with a button on it behind the TV set. If the green light is on the antenna boost is on.
It needs to be off when using cable.

X2.
Button in for antenna.
Out for cable.
Then rescan.

Maybe you are smart enough to know that but the OP is new to this apparently and may not.

I ran across an issue where only 2 of 3 TVs would successfully scan channels when hooked up to a digital cable feed. They all work fine when it is analog cable. When you run your scan, does it show something like "Digital Channels Received" and "Analog Channels Received"? My main and outside TVs do but my bedroom TV does not. Why? It DOES NOT have a digital tuner. After a round of texts with FR, they conceded they put non-digital ready TVs in many units, including my 2016 Gorgetown LX 369DS! They said that they will replace it through an authozized dealership. It is now in the shop and we will see if they will actually replace the analog only TV.

And why doesnt this surprise me ? Especially after ours spent 6 months at the factory and that complaint was on our hit list. Nevermind FR,we bought a REAL TV this summer, the furryfon (as we called it) is on a shelf in our carport.

Why bother with the FR supplied TV units. I replaced both that came in my TT with Samsung and Vizeo "smart" TVs. They're cheap and work great. It's not worth the time required to deal with FR or a dealer trying to get the junk they supply to work right.

Agree wholeheartedly. However, the MH was going in for a few other small fixes and I put it on the list. I was about to get a smart TV as you did, but the DW insisted on trying this first. I also planned to install a safe behind the unit while I was replacing it. The safe is still a winter project.

I'm reading this and can't even believe someone makes an analog only TV. TV signals have been digital for years.

Agreed. The Seiki TV in my 2016 GT is the exact TV that was in my 2014 Thor. I guess Seiki managed to offload a bunch of old units to the MH industry. They install "quality" Flurrions in the living room and outside - at least they are digital!

Interestingly but not surprisingly, the service rep at the dealership didn't question me on this issue when going through my repair list. Seemed like she had heard this many times before.

Also frustrating is that 4 of 5 campgrounds that we went to since July had analog cable so we didn't even realize the issue until we finally hit true digital cable at Fort Wilderness.

The TVs have digital tuners for OTA, but not for digital cable. I have yet to try my TVs on cable, as we either watch DirecTv, OTA, or a movie off the server. The few times we did have cable access, my cable wasn't long enough to reach. Story of my life.

Ok, that would be an easy fix. Will be back at Fort Wildnerness in 10 days, so we will try it then. Will let you know, thank you.

My Travel Trailer had the "cable" cable hooked up wrong on the back side of the antenna booster.

Angry

Ours wouldn't pickup cable or antennae the first time we went camping. Turned out the wires were not attached to the jack, just hanging loose inside the wall. It's a little 2015 Salem Cruiselite 174bh so someone walking around inside could sometimes cause the loose wire to touch the connection just enough for us to see tv for a few seconds.

Took it in for that problem, went camping again, couldn't get either again. Turned out that even though they had attached the wires they were now reversed.

Took it in again for this and other things. Antennae jack now works fine, turns out that even though there is a jack for cable and the salesmen go to great pains to point out this feature it is not available for our trailer model.

No biggie, I don't think it should be there if not available even as an option but at least now I can pick up over 50 channels by the antenna.

What a pain

When I fished the coax for the tailgater system I found several loose coax connections including one that was literally has hanging on but a thread.

Someone just posted a picture of a coax center conductor that was not even stripped back.

If you have the skill set and time find and check EVERY coax connector and make sure it is tight and right.

Correct. A very small point, but on some units that little light is red.
