Warm Refrigerator

I have a 2011 Rockwood M2607. I have a question about the Dometic refrigerator. I have the unit on Auto, the gas is on, the battery is at 2/3 full and it is not connected to shore power. The fridge has been on for about 26 hours. The freezer is cold but the fridge is still warm. Any thoughts ???

Odds are the fridge is colder than you think. There is not much in the fridge to feel cold if the fridge is empty. Put a few cans of cold drinks ( your choice ) in after about 5 hrs after you start the fridge, then check the temp of the drinks.

Warm Refrigerator

Thanks for the reply Flybob. Yes, the refrigerator is empty. Guess at my age I have to thank all the FR forum folks to remind me what I need to do.

Fridges work by absorbing heat from warm things. When you open the fridge, you let a lot of warm air in. If there is nothing more than the cooling fins and the inside surface to absorb the heat, the fridge will warm. If the fridge is full there is lots of mass to absorb the heat let in.

Flybob, you are very knowledgeable on this and I do appreciate your input. I have been an RV'r for 40 years and I did not know that. See, you really can learn something new every day. Thanks again.
