Red face Water Heater doesn't work in electric (should say gas) mode

Yes, I admit, I hooked up the battery backwards. I am so ashamed. This is my second post about this terrible deed I did. In addition to my radio not working right, it appears my water hear is not working in electric mode. It will heat with gas. I get a DSI FLT on the control panel. I did not get any manuals with the camper to help me figure this out. Please help.

"DSI FLT" applies to the propane/gas side. It means Direct Spark Ignition FAULT. If this fault light stays ON, you're not heating with gas.

As Rosanne Rosannadana used to say... Never Mind. It seems to be working now. I found another thread that explained the proper operation, followed it carefully, and now it works. I love FR Online!!

Thanks for reporting back with your success story.

Next... you don't need to beat yourself up for reversing battery leads. Nine other people might have done the same this weekend but we won't know........ because they didn't post it!

Question SW5DE heater - I'm baaaaacckk

Looks like heater is not functioning on gas after all. Gas is on, igniter tries three times, but nothing. I can repeat the process and it still trieds to light, but doesn not. Gas works fine at stove. I smell a little gas at the hw heater. Sounds like a solenoid is opening. Any ideas? BTW, electric does work. I had it all backwards.

How long has it been since it's worked on gas?

If it's been a while I'd try cleaning the burner and flue. Make sure there isn't and spidey friends making a home in there.
