What is Level Tolerance For Fridge?

My fridge is at the back of my TT, rather than on the side. How many degrees off level is safe before damage can occur to the fridge? One 'specialist' told me 5 degrees max, but even that seems like a lot. Is there a standard acceptable tolerance? And in my case, does it only apply to Left-Right or also Front-Back? I do try to level when I park, but after pushing the slides out, I sometimes sag about 1/2" on that side. (Will try to adjust for that by setting a 1/2" high next time).

-/+ 6 degrees if it has no coils(metal tubing) in horizontal freezer shelf. -/+ 3 degrees if it does.

I agree. I think if my TT was 3 degrees off, I would be very uncomfortable sitting or sleeping in my TT (not to mention get a refund on my level!!).

Thanks for the response, Crockett!

i get the small square appliance level, my fav, and plop it on the freezer shelf. half the volumn of the bubble, 2/3 diameter, in the circle. the leveling is only important when u are stationary for over 1/2 hour with the unit on. i square this bubble before i mount external levels. thank you for thanking me...

My dealership's shop foreman said if you're uncomfortable, the reefer is uncomfortable.

Definitly stabilize before the slides. May look at BAL bars or screw jacks as well.

I was parked on the side of I-40 outside of Jacksonville, TN, with a blowout and broken leaf spring shackle for 3.5 hours. My fridge was in the back and it stopped cooling. It took it 36 hours to start working again! Whew!

Good lesson if having to 'emergency park' - still try to level it out if possible. Maybe jack the low side up and rest on screw jacks or blocks.

Hey Crockett since you mentioned this slide, I don't want to highjack the thread so I will ask you a question in a new one, would you mind answering please? going to call it slide gear replacement.

your refer cooling coils are like your cardiovascular. when the boiler chamber gets over 210 degrees( from lack of venting or out of level), sodium chromate can crystalize in the siphon tube(think old school coffee pot). this can block completely or form a layer like hardening of the arteries. when the latter occurs, then you take longer to cool down. you may have had a bubble or you may have restriction in the siphon tube now...
