What's the trick to the main tv?

New 2010 Cottage 40CRS. Just opened it up for the season. Main living room tv issue. I did not get a tv manual. Two cable jacks. Bottom one says sat/aux. Also an on off bottom that turns green when on. I assume that's the booster for the on air antenna. Top one nothing. Cable TV hook up from the outside to the camper where it says cable. Turn on the tv, no signal on any input. Go to settings to scan for channels. About 8 show up, but I can't seem to get it set to channel 3. Goes to seven. I'll delete all those the next time I'm there. And rescan for channels. On 07 I get snow. So I'm doing something wrong.

Also. It appears that the tv is mounted to the wall. Which is fine by itself. But how in the world would you get to the back Jacks to plug in rca or hdmi cords??? Or hooking up a blu ray. That makes no sense to me. And I certainly don't want to be pulling on a 51" flat screen! That can't be the case because how did they hang it up there unless they hooked up the basic wires first? Then permanently fixed it in place?

Any assistance so I don't waste my first weekend would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so very much!

Did you turn the antenna booster off?

Not unusual for cables to be hooked up wrong. Make sure that green booster light is on, antenna up and pointed correctly if not an omni. Then scan see what you get. Move cable to the sat and try again. If you get more on the sat then cables are backwards in the wall. If you have an omni then that could be the problem. Lots of posts about that type. As to removing, lift up while tipping side to side and it will probably come loose. It may be on a V mount.
Let us know what you fine out.

Sorry dw. I'm using the parks cable system. So I changed the tv to cable, it was on air, tried it both both with the booster on and off. Ran the scan, but I will have to do that again. And delete the channels that did show up. 7 was the lowest, but I need to set it to 3.

So I'll run it again. Also, is the tv fixed mounted or on an extension arm, and just stiff to pull out do it doesn't move in transit?

I don't understand your channel 3 statement but that doesn't matter. If you are using park cable plugged into you outside plug, then make sure the TV cable is to the outlet without making on it and ensure the booster (green light) is off now go to setup and ensure your TV is set to cable and scan for channels. If you are using over air make sure your antenna is fully extended and pointed in a direction of best reception. turn the booster on (green lite) then check your setup to ensure the TV is to antenna and scan for channels. As to hookups look for inputs on the sides of the TV not just the back.

If it is very close to wall 1 inch or so it will probably be the V mount, if 2 inches or so it could be a articulate type mount. You could try to take a photo behind the TV with your phone and that will tell the story. I have one of each on my rig.

this appears to be the same post as before. If you are using park cable you should not have to set the tv to channel 3 unless your TV is so old it needs a cable box

Thanks seadog. Channel 3 is for the non station setting for cable. I'll check the sides, but there's not alot of room. They had it in the marked cable box, but I moved it. I'll also try to reach up and feel if it's on a swing mount. Our last one was, and it was just hard to pull out as I think it was stiff set for transit.

On our Georgetown there is one screw on the bottom and the mounting plate along with the TV swing up when it is removed.

I would also check to be sure the cable you are hooking up to is providing signal.

Channel 3 is achieved by setting the TV to 3 (.). Not sure why you're doing that unless you have a cable box you have to use or your dvd comes on channel 3. If you're running Bluray TV should be set to HDMI from the menu setup. OTA TV should be set to antenna, preamp on, and scan for stations. Adjust antenna for best reception. Campground cable should through your antenna connection with the preamp off (the little green light off). Without a cable box you should scan for cable stations usually on the same menu as antenna and may be done automatically. Check with the campground office as to what you should be receiving. Hope this helps.

Any luck yet? If you are still unsure of cabling run your jumper directly from park pedestal to your TV and check it. That will help you know what to troubleshoot.

I'll try to get up there to see. That's a good idea about the phone pic!
