Whats this do?

Hello all, just purchased an 03' All American Sport (38CKXB). The previous owner does not know what this illuminated switch does, and I figured someone here should know!

Its a little rough on the exterior due to some blowouts, I'm also looking for some replacement side skirts...thanks!

My guess Is on/off switch for propane (gas) side of your hot water heater.

That switch is to the right nearest the outlet...

Electric hot water heat would be my guess.

Here is a couple of links I found when looking for skirts for my old wilderness.
From the pics of your tires I would change them. Looks like a blow out waiting to happen.

Could be for underbelly tank heaters if you have them.

The water heater is plugged directly to an outlet with no controls inside. Outside, underneath the access cover is an on/off switch. It's possible, but I could not test the heater during inspection because there was no water in it. Not sure why they would put 2 switches in.

The tires are new or near new Goodyear, not worried about them.

Despite my previous campers having a "winter weather" option, this camper's underside is not insulated, but I will check for a heater element in them.

I was wondering the same. Based on my initial research, frame failures are far more common than I had hoped. The GVWR is 16,900. With only 2 7k axles, that assumes 2900 lbs of pin weight?? Not sure how thats accomplished with 2000 lbs in the 'garage', unless theres about 6000 lbs there empty!! Its heavy, but I haven't found a dry weight yet. I was hoping to upgrade the axles, and get away with about 3000 in the back, but its not looking good without serious consideration. Also unfortunate that the frame failures appear to concentrate around the pinbox.

Looking at your the pics of tire on Photobucket. Our those the tire you have on now?
Looks like the outsides of the tire is wearing more then the rest. Could be why it had a blow out?.
Happy camping

That's where it also looks like to me (see pic)

Does the switch that the yellow arrow point to say "Atwood", "Suburban". or just have an "S" on it?

The illuminated switch when on is for GAS only operation of the water heater, for electric operation, this switch should be off, the somewhat hidden switch outside behind the water heater side cover must be on, also the breaker in the converter control panel box must be on. Make sure by turning on the hot water faucet at the sink that there is water in the tank before turning on the water heater. You also may run both at the same time if you want, as they are totally independent systems of each other. Randy

Found the above statement in a thread from 2010, don't know about if valid or not but something to think about.

Took a trip to the scale, and she came in at 12,200 lbs (2100 lbs of pin weight)

I think Batts-toy
Has it correct. I have a similar setup in my new 2014 Wildwood.
