Where is front on a Winegard Rayzor Z1 (to aim it)

Does anyone have any clue what 'front' is on this antenna, in order to aim it? I'm not interested in other brands, this is what I have and no intention of changing it. My home Yagi style antenna is obvious what the front is, and where I am, a directional antenna is required. The Winegard is obviously somewhat directional, as it has a knob to change orientation.

Kris,

The "front" of the antenna is the pointed part with the "whiskers". It should be pointed to the rear of the camper when you place it in the transport position indicated on the knob inside the camper.

I have the same antenna... it seems to be relatively bi-directional, but is more sensitive when the front is pointed at the weaker station.

Your looking at the front from the picture, just point it in the direction, if you have a smart phone they have a app to tell you where the reception towers are. It should get you close and then just dial it in. It tells you in degrees where to point it. A easy way is to use a compass rose on the ceiling to give you the pointing degrees. Works well.

Thank you! Freaking operation manual makes absolutely no mention what part is 'front'. Playing around with it, generally the only stations I can get at home are from Philly or Allentown. Proper aim makes all the difference.

Does the knob inside have an indicator of which way the antenna is pointing?

Nope. I'll probably mark it, irritating to keep running outside to see which way it's pointing. I'm in the floor of a valley where I am at home, not near any city. I get a station called Quest and about 5 chinese stations. Time to brush up my Mandarin I guess. I hate NJ.

I think when its in travel position, it points straight back. Should be easy to put a mark on it.

Yes, I noticed that one of the protrusions on the tri-star shaped knob coincides with the 'front' (the part with the 'whiskers' lol). I'll just put a dot on that one.

Mine is marked with an arrowhead, but it's molded into the plastic and has absolutely no contrast to make it more visible.

I took a sharpie to mine, also marked the 4 points on the compass... well... front, rear, left, right

Making fun of the whiskers, eh? I just thought it looks like a sturgeon head... and they've got the whiskers

On mine you turn it all the way counterclock wise and it will be in travel position - aimed to the rear.
