I am not sure what your system looks like, but maybe if I explain my system, it might help you with yours. The last thing you want is pink ice cubes in the future.
With my unit you need to disconnect the ice maker tube to prevent the RV Antifreeze from going into the unit and making pink ice cubes. I have circled the tube which will have pink antifreeze in it after you are done. I have circled the part with the hose disconnected that keep the antifreeze from going into the ice maker. Also when I winterized mine, I need to unplug the electrical connection to the unit with the hose that was disconnected. I then drain this unit using a patch cord with two connectors that needs to be plugged into the area at the top of the next picture which is also circled (I need to unplug the existing connections there to drain the tube). You would leave the hose disconnected, until you drain the antifreeze out in the spring and reconnect it. Hopefully I got all of the steps in there.

Easiest way to do this to be positive nothing will freeze. Disconnect water line going to fridge (usually under sink) pull fridge out from wall ( fridge is most likely on rollers) then remove water valve located at the rear of fridge (bottom corner on Whirlpool) take valve home . This is the most positive way to stop freezing of the water valve. I contacted Whirlpool and of course "No Idea"
