XM SkyFi 3

The SkyFi 3 is independant of the Concertone control head. The audio output just goes to an input on the ZX-700 AV2 I think.

The XM mount can stay even if you switch out the concertone to the Jensen.

We just picked up our trailer last week. So far the ZX-700 has worked fine. I've tried it with the XM radio with no problem. Haven't tried the TV through the stereo yet, or the DVD player. Dealer said that the TV wouldn't play through the surround sound, but the radio user guide says that it should. I need to find out.
So what goes wrong with these units? I'd like to know what I should be looking, or prepared, for.

We got our new 2011 V-Lite 30WRLS home friday and the ZX700 is working perfectly so far. All the gizmos seem to do as advertised. Only thing is I can hear a faint very high pitched whistle from either the 32" Toshiba LCD TV or the ZX unit not sure yet.

Well, our first outing has started so far everything is working fine with our radio. I haven't tried all the inputs/features, but the radio worked just fine and playing the XM Radio through the stereo also worked fine. Typically had it on from morning through late afternoon and no issues. I will continue to monitor it as well as check out the remaining features of the radio.

At my work place there is a high pitched hum that comes from the tv when in AV mode with the cable hooked up as well. Once we disconnect the cable it stops. Maybe yours is the same way. Hope that may help ya out.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out.

W/ the number of units replaced under warranty, you would think that they could spec the RVs w/ a decent unit. Have a radio delete option & have someone install a unit that knows what they're doing. For those that haven't had their radio out, the rats nest behind mine looks as bad as the mess I have w/ my PC, scanner & printer.

After reading about the Concertone ZX690 I must agree that it seems to be a pile of $%&@!. I don't have a rig yet but must ask the following questions.
Is this unit used for the sound output from the TV?
I know it is for the radio CD/DVD and Sattelite Radio and Ipod.

If it goes bad what can you replace it with and how do you fill in the BIG hole in the wall?

Iggy--I should be able to weigh in on that in a week. We pick up the new TT at the dealer this week, and then depart Friday for the shakedown cruise. From what I've observed, the unit has the ZX690-style head, but also has a few new features such as an SD card reader and USB port. Is that characteristic of the ZX700?

Not sure about the additional things you mentioned but I have a XM Sat radio that is seperate but attached to the speaker system.

Iggy,

Shouldn't get your knickers in a knot over the ZX700 before you even get it. If it breaks that is what warranty is for. Ours works fine and there are an aweful lot of ZX700 owners that don't have any issues with them. Sure there are some who do but it is like anything designed and built by man, there is always going to be some that are pure junk (believe me I know, just ask me about my 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Megacab that just celebrated it 2nd birthday a week ago with trip #40 to the repair shop for warranty). Give it a chance you may be suprised.

"knickers in a knot"
I don't worry about the small stuff and everything is small stuff.
Have a great day! I'm always having one.

The 700 came with our 2010 Sabre 31REDS. It works fine on CD, DVD, FM and Sat radio (XM is a separate interface - in case you are interested, if you want to add an iPod interface this can be in place of, not in addition to, the XM radio unit - I am going to explore a switch for this). DVDs play through the surround sound speaker system but broadcast TV plays through its own internal speakers.

There are so many adjustments and options on this thing I have to get out the manual almost every time I use it but so far, so good.

Now about trucks: I hope my experience with my 2010 Ram diesel is better than what I read here! We only have about 5000 miles on it but agin, so far so good.

No question there has been issues that can be traced to the unit itself or the installation/wiring (which affects the unit, but is not the unit), but many, many units are in use with no problems.

That is of course little solace to the ones who experience the issues...

So far so good

While not the best stereo I have owned, by far, it still works as advertised.

I do plan on opening an access port in the upper cabinet and mount a large muffin cooling fan in there. Heat is its worst enemy.

Frack.

2nd day at home with the 2011 flagstaff 26rlss an now it won't recognize dvd's!

Worked fine earlier today.

Tried everything right down to disconnecting all the power from the rig (shore and the battery).

35,000 dollars and problems on the second day?

I don't freakin' think so Tim!

I'll be back in the dealers office tomorrow.

I'll get satisfaction or I'll get my money back or that dealer is going to get the worst press they've ever seen!

Funny thing is, my rig came with a zx75 but all the documentation was for a zx700........hmmmmmmmm...........

I'm thinking I'm getting a zx700 with an ipod adapter for my troubles.

We'll see if thier customer service lives up to what they were braggin about.....
