A Week In Florida
We just returned from a week long stay in Southwest Florida. While the rest of the country was stuck in snow, ice, and cold rain, we enjoyed 7 days of 85+ degrees and mid 60s nights. Of course we took our Harleys and logged in over 600 miles of just good ol crusin. We explored the whole area and just loved it. We camped at the Sun-N-Shade RV park in Punta Gorda Fl. It's on US41 just off I75. It proved to be a great central location for us as we rode Ft Myers, Port Charlotte, Pine Island, and a bunch of other places I can't recall at the moment. We aren't much for campground hangin - when we "go" camping , we really GO! But like most campgrounds in Fl there were plenty of long term campers, snowbirds, whatever. They had a lot of activities for adults, and a nice pool and other things that we didn't do. Didn't see many kids there but school is in so I guess that's where they are. All I can say is there are islands galore, lots of fishing places, beautiful flora and fauna, and pretty friendly people too. There are a lot of campgrounds all over the area, even one that is on the beach in Ft Myers so everyone should be able to find what they are looking for. We are already planning a return trip this winter and looking forward to it.
