Alabama Summer Park

Hi all

We are looking to camp in northern Alabama in August. We like quite woodsy parks. We pull a 34 foot Cardinal 5th wheel. Any ideas?

You should check out Smith Lake Park, it is in Cullman, AL right off I-65 and Joe Wheeler State Park, both are very nice parks. You can check out both on the web or Face Book.

X2 what Chuck said -- another interesting park is Monte Sano State Park. They have full hookups and it is the highest point in the local area. Lots to do in the Huntsville area if you have not been here before!

X3 on Monte Sano. It was one of the most beautiful parks I've ever seen. It's the only place we've stayed in Alabama.

We will be traveling and staying at Desoto State Park in Fort Payne at the end of May. Haven't stayed there before, but it looks really nice and gets good reviews.

Desoto State Park is one of my favorite parks, we make it up there a few times a year, they have nice big sites, the back in sites are the best.

Thanks for the reply's. All of them look prefect. So much so that instead of staying in one park for 8-10 days we will move and try two. Now the research begins as two which two. Thanks again all!

It will depend on what you want to do Sor - if you want to Boat, Smith Lake is a #1 choice, hiking/Sightseeing? Wheeler or Desoto, a mix plus urban touring? Monte Sano

Have fun deciding!!
