From what I see on there website it is a very nice park. If you can afford it by all means go. That's why there is more than one campground in the area.

If you have time head over to Cades cove in Townsend about 30 miles away well worth it, if you like to eat, and who doesn't, Paula dean's old mill pottery shed apple barn and the list could go on and on

We like the Apple Barn, I buy apple cider there, it's about the only place that sells unpasteurized cider. Old Mill is our favorite but only for breakfast. We went to Paula Deens and to us we have eat better but there was a lot of people there. Log Cabin pancake house is also great, Galitnburg or Pigeon Forge. By all means visit Cades Cove. Cataloochee is another great place to go, they have free roaming Elk there, it's just a crooked road and about five miles of dirt road and did I say crooked

Good to hear about options in the Gatlinburg area and what to see there. We are going on early October but staying at Big Meadows. Wish I had heard about Anchor Down before I made our reservations. We would have liked the lake.

My wife and I stayed at Anchor Down for a week last month and loved it. Compared to other places in the area it was cheaper. We were there to ride the mountains and new roads so the location was perfect for us.

Love Pigeon Forge

Hope you and family have a great visit at Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Took my 10 year old grandson to the Titanic attraction there last summer. It was GREAT. We REALLY enjoyed it. You might want to check it out.

Always enjoy staying at Anchor Down even though it is a little higher cost wise. I like to treat myself from time to time to the views of the lake and mountains. The staff is first class and if you have a problem, cause I have had a few, they are there to get you up to speed. We have stayed in many other cgs in the area through the years but AD is one of my top five places to stay. All I got to stay is...
