Any info on Summit Lake SP in Indiana?

We are thinking of camping there in July but have never been. Any information on the park or campground would be great. I see on their site that they have lakefront campsites.

Is there such a thing as a summit, in Indiana?

Zinger, we like SLSP. We volunteer there more than we camp there, and we go there to hike sometimes. Our volunteering is setting up telescopes and showing off the heavens, usually near the end of the A-loop of the campground. No events planned yet for July, the park naturalist is seasonal and we have not yet had contact with them. If you would like, message us when you will be there and we will meet with you there. Jupiter & Saturn are probably available through July.

Dan, they were planning to call it Kinda-Hilly-Area-Lake State Park but I don't think it caught on.

Most of the summits in Indiana are abandoned land fills. Actually , the park is very nice. Some sites are waterfront, boat rental is available, fishing is very good. I think there is a 10 mph limit on the lake. Been a few years since we've been there, but we will go back.

Site 51

Depending on your equipment I recommend site 51. It is deep, no campers on door side and 50 feet from the lake, can dock a boat.
We had our 34 ft TT there last week, planning to go back.

Summit Lake State Park is a nice relaxing place with a preety view of the lake. The closer you get a site to the lake the more relaxed you become. Hiking trails are not very exciting.
