Anyone heading to Assetegue...

Island National seashore for Memorial Day? I screwed up this year and waited too long to book our "usual" site. All sites were booked for the weekend. My wife flipped out, how could I wait. Well, with all the cold weather, booking a camp site was the last thing I was worried about. Anyway, a site just opened up, and I got it!! Beach front loop at that! Boy I got lucky. I think my wife was jumping up and down when I called her with the news.

I did not know you could make reservations.... I would love to stay there. We usually end up in Frontier Town or Fort Whaley. Which part do you stay in, the state park or national park?

Wow! You were very lucky to get beach side of the ocean camping. We stay at the National park & there are fewer beach side spaces than in the State park.

We only stay at the national park. We can't have dogs on the MD park. You can make reservations up to 6 months in advance. I hoped that someone would cancel before the 30 days cancellation fee kicked in. (you lose a night's payment if you cancel inside of 30 days of your reservations)
