East Harbor SP is a a very nice park. Last year the Ohio state parks gave a night away free in early-mid April. So watch out for that it was a Thursday night. so if your up here during that time may get a freebie night if they do it again.

East Harbor is a very nice state park we camp there a couple times every year. In Ohio you don't have to buy a camping permit, you just pay for your site.

Due to the weather many places are not open in Sandusky area in April. They are usually doing the final cleanup and prep for the May season start. Sandusky is huge for cedar point amusement park and they open mid may ... Keep searching someone may be open.

I can't remember where I saw it but Michigan state parks were named state park systems of the year for 2013 by the federal gov.

Interest, why would the federal gov't name a certain state "park system of the year" that just seems odd to me. Is there really somebody tasked by the NPS to look at that stuff. How would they possibly know that.
