Asheville NC for Christmas ???

Thinking of going to Asheville NC, for Christmas week, and visit Biltmore estate. Any campground recommendations ? I know its any ones guess but how is the average weather there during that time of year ? Not a real good question knowing its in the mountains and cold and snow are always possibilities. I have not done any real cold weather camping, the average day temps seem doable nightime could be a problem. Any advice ??? Thanks

Asheville NC

Highly recommend Mama Gurties Campground.
As far as weather hit or miss, could be warm could be cold, could be wet could be white. Either way have a very merry and enjoy Asheville.

X2 for Mama Gertie's. We camped there last week. Excellent! We also had 65+ daytime temps. They are calling for similar temps on Christmas although it might rain some.

If it's nice and clear out go to Max Patch mountain. Fantastic views and a beautiful drive. Not for RV or trailer though. It is an entry point to the Appalachian trail so the hiking is really good if you're into that.

Mama Gertie's is the place to stay if you are wanting to be close to Biltmore, but if they are predicting cold/snow, I would plan to stay in Spartanburg (bottom of the mountains) and then drive into Asheville, which is only about an hour.

We are about an hour east of Asheville in th foothills and go often. You will enjoy the Biltmore House Christmas and Asheville in general. FYI though, we are going to have a very unseasonably warm Christmas weekend. Its quite cool today with only a high in the low 50s, Asheville probably high 40s, but it is to change drastically as we get closer to Christmas Eve, definitely no snow and maybe only light jackets as the foothills approach 70 and Asheville should be in mid to higher 60s.
