Asheville, NC Recommendations

Leaving next week (4/15) for a week in Pigeon Forge and would like to spend a few days in the Asheville area. Looking for a recommendation on a campground, we like nature and hiking but also need our 50 amp full hook ups for the dogs of course .

We stayed at The Great Outdoors Campground-in Franklin, NC last May. Our site had a view of the mountains from our rear window. Owners were very nice and helpful. I eould really recommend staying here. We it.

Asheville, NC Recommendations

We really like the creek side sites at http://creekwoodfarmrv.com. Very close to Maggie Valley.

Campfire Lodgings is a beautiful campground. We have stayed there multiple times. Great location near downtown Asheville but you would never know it when you are in the campground..

I just booked in to Mama Gertie's but waiting too long; wanted at lease 3 nights but only got two nights confirmed. Thanks for the recommendations.

If you like nature, I would try Lake Powhatan! It's just outside Ashville, but it has a out in the woods feel!

I’m on my way to Northern IL from Wilmington NC. How far off the freeway is the Lake. I’ll only be staying a night, two at most.

Mama Gertie's is nice. Don't be concerned about the steep entrance. We spent a week there and couldn't have been treated any better. It isn't kid friendly (no pool) but we weren't there for that.

I just booked four nights there... Can't wait. Going to spend a week in OBX ok the beach, then a week in the woods working our way home (taking the very scenic route from OBX back to south Eastern PA)
