Starting to plan a 2012 trip to Assateague.
Wife is a big horse lover! I’ve thought about it on & off for a couple years now & this months issue of Trailer Life had a small article about Assateague.

Anyone camped/experienced Assateague?
I would want to schedule it for when they do that horse swim thing & take the canoe down to watch (from a distance) in the water.
Looking for any advice/suggestions.

I live nearby and am there at least once a week if not more during the good weather.

Feel free to ask me any specifics.

There is a State and a Fed Park on the north end. The Pony swim is at the south end in VA

Mosquitoes are big and the horses interesting. The bay side is awesome for exploring, especially if you canoe/kayak.
