Association Island RV resort and marina

We chose to come to this campground last Thanksgiving (Canadian) /Columbus day because it was a short drive. We had just gotten the Shasta Revere and had a real short drive and were nervous. We loved the place. So much so, we are making it an annual Thanksgiving tradition

Mostly big rigs, on an island. Road to island is a causeway. Part of the resort is a marina. The island is all rv and marina resort. Close to Watertown NY

This is the last weekend for seasonal campers but the CG is open till the end of the month. If we want to go camping the next few weekends we are charged a rate that is a percentage of our seasonal rate. I will most likely be winterizing our unit next weekend. Hate to pack it in because the weather is so great. Day time highs in the low 20C of 70F nights are warm enough do not need the furnace on . Plus the fall colours are great. Boubou have a great weekend and hope the border crossing is not too busy on your way home. Can you take the ferry from the US to Wolf Island or is your rig too large?

Stayed there YEARS ago the first year they were open. Facility used to be a summer retreat/meeting/conference center for G.E. employees. The only problem we had there was the constant wind off the lake, no use putting up your awning 1/2 the time.

Caper, not sure about rig size restriction in ferry but we are pretty short (41 feet total).
Very windy, especially THIS weekend!
But if you stag on the sunrise side of the island, it's much calmer.

boubou, We stayed at Association Island for a week this past August. We had three families there. We had a water front site. The views were great, the weather was fantastic (except for one big thunderstorm). Would definitely go back.

Association Island is now a KOA and the prices are more reasonable. Great sunsets, good fishing in the area. Golf courses nearby ( not great but playable. We like to camp at Brennan Beach better. It is about 15 or 20 miles south on route 3.

Too bad we have to miss this year, big Thanksgiving weekend.
Niece's husband in Afghanistan and she's in Trenton with a 3 months old and a 2.5 year old. She needs a good dinner and camping is too much for her and little kids right now.
We'll probably go back again next year.
Hope you get great weather, so far, this fall is much better than the spring and summer we've had across the country!
