We travel thru Atlanta a lot going between FL and NC. During the week between 10 and 2 best time assuming no accidents but accidents can happen on any road. Saturday should be fine.

The bypass is also the truck route and in my opinion worse than buzzing right thru town not to mention a shorter route. Relax, you will be fine. I have always found Atlanta somewhat over-hyped.

my fear was driving thru Atlanta. abt 15 yrs ago, i went thru going east on a Friday afternoon around 6pm. as i approached (abt 4:30), i noticed traffic picking up. pulled into a walmart and had supper. got back on the road around 6. traffic would approach me in mobs then i would be alone. on the west side, i had to merge with another interstate, no traffic pulled right in. then the mob approached again. i considered myself very fortunate to go thru so easy.
More recently, we have made several trips to Woodstock (n of Atlanta) without the trailer. i believe i would go out of my way rather than go thru again with a trailer.
