Beach Campgrounds in NC, SC, GA, or FL

Trying to put together a last minute beach trip for the end of the month. Usually we stay at Myrtle Beach but the big 3 are booked (Pirateland, Ocean Lakes, Lakewood). I am looking for other beach campgrounds in NC, SC, GA, or FL. I do want to be able to walk to the beach. Please give me any suggestions you may have. There must be other nice campgrounds around Charleston, Hilton Head, etc. Thanks

Hunting Island State Park. Very busy and usually booked. Get on line (Reserve America) and check EVERYDAY! Someone will cancel. It is SC's most popular SP. Haven't had time to look a bit farther out in GA, but DW and I just made a week long trip to FL to visit friends. We really liked Anastasia SP outside St Augustine! Not walking distance to the beach for most, but a small drive from campsite to large parking lot/store/grill then onto the beach. Very nice park! Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. Hunting Island State Park looks very nice! No availability at this time for my dates but I am on the waiting list. Will keep looking for other options as well. Thanks for sharing!

Check out St Joseph Peninsula State Park in FL. Absolutely beautiful and you can walk to the beach.

Edisto Beach SP in South Carolina, and Fort Clinch SP in Florida.

Nice! The only negative is my wife would like to have a pool option as well and thats not common for state parks. She likes the resort campgrounds with lots of options.

There are many, BUT, judging from the ones you listed in SC, you're looking for full hook-ups. That would leave out all the federal parks on the Outer banks and most state parks.
Booking this late means you will have more luck going to parks with no amenities (esp. swimming pools). The lesser it is attractive to kids, the more luck you will have.
If you want to go this route, PM me and I'll make several suggestions.

Now that you have narrowed the field, there is always Topsail Hill Preserve SP near Destin, FL. It is set back a bit from the beach, but is walkable, and they do run a shuttle. But good luck on getting a last-minute reservation.
