Beachfront Camping

Since we have gotten our Camper, we have gone to parks and mountains. I realize its probably time to take the DW to the Ocean.

Anyone have any recommendations for Beachfront camping. I want to have Electric and see the ocean. Everything else is icing. I know I am probably late to make a reservation for January/ Febuary timetable, but i can always call and possibly make reservations for the year after.

Thanks in advance.

If you want to wait later in the year, end of April or the first of May, I would suggest Hunting Island SC. It's usually full during the summer and all the school vacations, but during the "off-season", you might luck into an ocean front site. It is beautiful. $32/night with water/electric.

It's a long shot but it doesn't hurt to keep an eye out for availability due to cancellations. Due to a change in plans I am double booked for Christmas and will be cancelling at one of the campgrounds, most likely the state beach. Life happens - I have picked up reservations for an ocean front site a couple of times in the past. I wouldn't count on it but I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility either.

MD Assateague State Park has electric, I believe. Not sure about its oceanfront-ness.

That said, Camp Gulf is on my bucket list!

Myrtle Beach had CG's that are at the beach, behind dunes. I've stayed in Ocean Lakes and Pirate Land. They're both nice, but Cajun's pics have me wanting that kind of site.

Either Red Coconut on the Gulf in Ft Myers or Beverly Beach Camptown on the Atlantic in Beverly Beach just north of Flagler Beach. Just stayed at them both in the past month. Both are full hookups and right on the beach. Red Coconut is my favorite...

We are at camp gulf this week. Don't know if they will have openings in January but you can try. Beautiful beach. There are openings this week on the beach.

Blue water key Rv resort .. Key west Fl

Every site has full service, your own tiki hut with tv and electric( some have frig and freezer) and your own private Dock so you can swim or if you like to fish..

Great setup..

But they're not "beach"-front.

We're headed there later this year. Our site is #49. Our tiki hut looks pretty primitive compared to what you show, but we're looking forward to it none-the-less!

Which site was that?

That was site 81... We prefer 81 for the size and privacy but it's not always available.. Then we stay at 80...

State parks in the florida panhandle are cheap, uncrowded, clean and on the beach...... Henderson Beach State Park, Destin.......Grayton Beach State Park, Grayton Beach... St. Andrews State Park, Panama City Beach......St. Joseph State Park, St. Joseph Island .......are just a few I have stayed at the past two Januarys. All the state parks have water and electric, no septic. January can be chilly however, but, the good thing is you can probably get reservations at all of em, even now. Good luck, have fun.

Fort Pickens is a reasonably priced campground especially if you have a federal seniors pass. Galveston Island's city campground is real nice right on gulf.

Jolly Roger RV resort in literally ON the gulf in Marathon Key. Been there twice and will be there again for a week starting on Christmas eve. Also, Beverly Beach RV Resort is directly ON the ocean about 5 miles north of Flagler Beach. We do Beverly Beach for weekends now and then since we are only two hours away.

Try this Camp Hatteras Resort © 2013 | Camp Hatteras Resort © 2013 We just bought a membership to this place which also accepts Good Sam and KOA with 10% discount.

Check next door Cape Hatteras KOA | Camping in North Carolina | KOA Campgrounds

Another one a mile south of the two above Ocean Waves Campground

If you have kids, the first two would be better. If it's just the two of you, all three are good.
