Best PA campgrounds

Will be doing a lot of short trips throughout PA this summer. Would like to hear what campgrounds throughout PA are your favorites. We have 2 young children as well. Thanks.

J&D Campground. About a mile down the road is Knoebels Amusement Park. If you have kids, it's a must. J and D Campground near Knoebels Amusement Resort Elysburg, Catawissa camping for young and old

We had thought about staying there while our daughter was attending Lycoming Collage for graduation, but ended up staying in Williamsport, nice campground.

There are a few campgrounds in the Gettysburg area, Drummer Boy, Round Top, Granit Hills, KOA in Gettysburg just to mention a few.

There are few In the Hershey area as well, the first one that comes to mined is Hershey High Meadow, just down the road from Hershey Park.

Yogi Park in Quarryville was always a favorite for us when the kids were younger. They now have a water park on site as well.

If you're around Lancaster County, we found Beacon Hill CG just outside Intercourse to be good. It's on a quiet side road in Amish Country.

I also agree with J&D Campground as well as the one's suggested in Gettysburg. We have Hershey Park in our back yard and would never go there. Just the cost to get into the park, you can spend a whole week at J&D and go to Knoebles and still have $$ left. Also add Lake-in-woods Campground and Eagle's Peak.

We have stayed at the Kozy Rest Kampground, Harrisville, PA. They have just become a Yogi Bear campground and cater to children, especially on weekends. It's also a very clean campground, won several awards last year and the family that run/own the campground are very nice and friendly. We've also stayed at Dogwood Acres, Carlisle, PA....very nice campground, and Granite Hill Campground, Gettysburg, PA
