Thank you everyone! All info is appreciated & very helpful.

Our Wildcat's height says 12'6" in the paperwork, but it is currently having vent covers installed, plus our truck rides high since DH put bigger tires on it. I think we'd feel more comfortable with the Monitor-Merrimack tunnel. We didn't realize they were diff heights.

As for KOA vs Holiday Travel park, I still can't decide. All reviews say HTP is loud & crazy until 2am. We'll be traveling with a 2, 11 & 14 yr old.

Most of the noise is from the Jets from Oceana Naval Air Station. When I talked to the KOA to make my reservations they told me about the jet noise.

Being from VAB we refer to it as the "sound of freedom".

HolidayTP has a super site area. The spots are paved and well spaced. The area has its own pool. If you go there, be sure to get one of these. They're worth the extra bucks.
Also, Holiday has a service road that leads to a general store/gas station at an intersection with a traffic light. This road connects to a bike path to the aquarium and downtown Va. Beach. Meaning, if you bike, you can shop, sightsee and go to the beach without getting back into your truck.
Don't tell your husband, but if he rides his bicycle south, he'll find Bone Shakers, a sports bar with lots of cold beer and TVs.

Yes, that I-81 stretch around Hagerstown is crazy

Probably too late to ask as we're heading down I- 64 S. We are going to 664 S & Monitor Merrimack tunnel. Do we then go to 264 (google maps says partial toll) or go to 64/17?

264 East takes you to Va. Beach.......take Gen Booth exit off 264 or stay on to the end until you reach Bird Neck Rd.
