Another vote for Up The Creek. We stayed there 2 years ago and wish we were there now! Each site backs up to a creek. Most kids won't like it because there is nothing but a beautifully landscaped campground. No pool, playground, etc. I don't know why I can't post pics without getting the red X?

Here is a list of good campgrounds here in the mountains. Any of the National Park campgrounds are a good choice. In the Pisgah National Forest, Davidson River is really nice. On the Blue Ridge Parkway up at Mt. Pisgah is Nice. In the Nantahala National Forest Standing Indian is really nice. On Lake Chatuge in the Nantahala National Forest Jack Rabbit is very nice and even better if you have a boat. Interested in mountain biking, then Tsali Campground in the Nantahala National Forest located on the shores of Fontana Lake is nice. Out in Robbinsville near the Tail of the Dragon is some nice camping along the shores of Lake Santeelah near Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest (nantahala national forest). Up on the foothills parkway near Townsend is Look Rock Campground which is also very nice. These are all great campgrounds in the mountains here.

Smokyroo thanks for the campground list. We love the mountains and will try a couple of them.
