Timberline got beat up in reviews on rvparkreviews.com if I recall correctly. And Hershey is too far (we visit there often so we don't need to add that to this trip).

There's a Thousand Trails park called PA Dutch in Manheim, PA so it would be "free" to stay for me and seems close to the turnpike- it's just still 90 minutes away.

Yeah, I saw the reviews for timberline some were real bad and others were ok. In my opinion it is very hard to determine what is actually going on based on reviews. I think that people jump on the web to make bad reviews/complaints a lot quicker than they do to praise something that is good. Campgrounds may be a little different, but trucks, cars, trailers get destroyed when something negative is abound. Just look at some of the gas vs diesel threads. Not to say I don't look at reviews because I do, at this point in my life I want to make sure a campground is family friendly. In a few years when the kids get tired of me and the wife we will be a bit more adventurous, if a trip goes bad for the two of is it just "oh well, lesson learned", if it goes bad with the kids we feel bad if they get disappointed. Hope the camping/searching goes well either way.

I hear ya and wholly agree. I try to look for trends in reviews and make judgements from there. I also tend to give me credence to people on this forum.

Just made my reservation for Butteryfly Camping Resort in Jackson, NJ. We'll see how we fair with the commute to/from the campground and bit longer of a drive on a Friday afternoon.

We went to Sesame Place this past weekend but we did not camp. We just couldn't justify the drive time from Butterfly Camping Resort to the park. Plus, we wanted to go to the park Sunday after checking out and weren't sure how that would work with the camper. Even more so, it was cheaper to hotel it than camp.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn - Levittown/Bensalem. Ok place for an inexpensive place to stay ($64/night). Overly perfume smell in the lobby and hallways (enough to burn my throat, but I'm sensitive to strong perfume smells); so they were hiding something. But the room didn't have the same stench, was clean and had 2 queen beds and a pack & play for little dude. Microwave, fridge (no freezer though ) and even had a pretty good shower.

Friday night, on the way, we stopped at Sweet Lucy's Smokehouse for BBQ. Always yummy and a "must stop" when we go north on I-95 past Philly (another reason to hotel it- the exit is a city exit and I don't know what their parking lot is like for a big rig!).

Once at Sesame Place, daughter and I rode a very empty Super Grover.

Looks like you had a good time. I wish my man was not 13 or I would take him there. We are going Knoebels in a couple of weeks staying at Splash Magic.
