It's a nice place. There is also Skidaway Island State Park.

We stayed in a really nice campground on Tybee Island. I don't remember the name but it's the only one on the island, twelve miles out of downtown Savanah

Stayed in the Savannah South KOA for a week. Very nice, with a lake. Nice choice of local restaurants. Easy trip to Savannah. Decent shade, which will be important in August!

I lived in Savannah and know some nice sites.
Tybee campground and tight.
Skidaway island state park is outside Savannah near the marsh and a drive into the city. The Truman parkway helps navigating around town.
Richmond hill is south of Savannah. Nice campsite, Marsh front, nice views. Also a state park. Goggle for specific info or if I can assist more. Good luck
Btw-biting bug season!

We travel from NC to Lakeland Florida 2 times a year. This is the campground we stay at. Very nice owners, beautiful sites, all paved with concrete, night lights, grills, and picnic tables. Walking distance to convenience store and grocery store. Very reasonable rates. Love this place. Coastal GA RV Resort - Welcome Home

Happy Camping

Stayed in the Savannah South KOA for a few days last year. Very clean, wooded with a lake. Extremely friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Rivers End

If there is any chance of rain, I would not stay here. This CG floods pretty much in good down pour. Our spot was over axle deep and washed our coolers and screen tent away. On the upside, it is convenient to Tybee Island attractions for both biking and walking

Also there is Fort McAllister SP. They have 65 campsites,55 of those are pull thru. They are located just south of savannah. Also will accommodate rv's up to 50'.we stay there at least once or twice a year. Much better than Tybee Island. Tybee is just to close together for a stay longer than 2 days. Imho. Also ft mac. Has a lot to do right there at the park☺

If you are just looking for a place to stay while sight seeing there is Hardeeville RV park across the river from Savannah in S.C. Probably the closest to Savannah. Go to campgroundreviews.com for a way to find campgrounds.

We stayed at Tybee Island a couple of years ago and really enjoyed ourselves. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Sites were close but we were with a group and had no problem arranging ourselves to where we were comfortable. While you're there, you've got to try The Crab Shack on the island. The food and atmosphere was great.

There is a Corps of Engineers park out there that has some beautiful spots in it--all under the shade of the forest. It is located at the dam. We stayed there several years ago when visiting our daughter at Fort Gordon. It was really quiet and restful. One of the best Corps parks that we have used.

We stayed at Red Gate Farms between Christmas and New Years and would definitely recommend it over Tybee Island. Skidaway Island would be our first choice.

X2 on Redgate Farms. We have stayed there at least 3 times and would recommend it highly. They have some full hookup sites but they also have 2 sites with water and 50 Amp but without sewers. We have always stayed in those sites...overlooking a beautiful pond with a semi private pavilion and lots of decking, trees and space. We just visit a full service site on the way in or out. If you want to go downtown they have a service you can call.

Tybee island

Rivers End is a City of Tybee Island owned Campground. I do not recommend staying there. Reason, very crowded to extremely crowded during mid season @ $69.00 per night, peak season @ $89.00 per night,
high season @ $99.00 per night.

The park will put you so close, you can not open your awning. Tenters will
be placed very near you in Mid season/ high season. Your neighbors will
build camp fires right next to your RV. This is the reason I do not recommend Rivers End Camp Ground.

There are other RV parks close by to the city of Savanna that are nicer and the price is a lot cheaper.

Choose Wisely

We have always had good stays at Rivers Inn. Go in Aug or Sept never a site where you are cramped always plenty of room if your not in the real shady spots. Later RJD
