Campgrounds in the Keys

Looking for campground suggestions in the Keys. State parks are pretty much full for months, so seeking alternatives.
Thanx

We've driven through "Knights Key RV Resort and Marina" in Marathon and it looked pretty good. Its on the Atlantic side and in the area we prefer with prices that are competitive for that area. Fortunately we were staying at Curry Hammock SP.

The Keys will be mostly empty by the end of May.
The snowbrids will be home fleeing the heat.

The goal of a true snowbird is to avoid using the heater and the air conditioner by relocating when either is needed.

Absolutely right. DW calls it chasing the weather. Sometimes we chase harder and further than others.

We stayed at Boyd's right on Stock Island. It was tidy although the sites are quite cramped (being so close to Key West and all its amenities, I don't think you're expected to be on your site very much). It is pricey and the WiFi sucked (the repeater in our section would capture your devices but had no connectivity). On the plus side, if you get one of the sites backing onto the water you look directly across the bay at the naval air station and get a free airshow just before supper every evening as they recover the fighter formations and patrol planes.

P.S. my current avatar is at Boyds.

Bluewater Key was glorious, but expensive. Here are some pictures from Christmas 2012 on site #49 there.

RV Park in the Keys

I just returned from a month in Key West. Stayed at Boyds in Stock Island and tend to agree with the post above about Boyds. I also stayed at Point of View on Key Largo and it was nice.

This past November stayed at Cudjoe Key resort (caught almost the limit in mangrove snapper right from out campsite - pic #1) while the year before we stayed on Marathon @ Jolly Rodger where the waves were breaking over our camper and you were not allowed to fish from the campsite.....

Was this Venture Out Resort? Looks like a great spot and being able to fish from the campsite is always a huge plus to me. We are going to try to snag a spot at Bahia Honda for spring break 2016, but if I strike out, this would be a great alternative. Plus there is a very good bait/tackle shop on Cudjoe.

Top picture is venture out (note: they claim to be dog friendly but the potty spot is OUTSIDE the resort (so over a mile walk for us - had to drive the dear old pup to the bathroom)

As for fishing - threw that first catch back (thankfully wiggled off the hook) but the first good catch was mine (& they were GREAT!)

Awesome! Thanks for the additional comments - especially the dog info. I think our pup will be with us so that is good info.
Hmmm.... pup friendly or fishing friendly.... pup or fish.... decisions, decisions...

We loved Jolly Roger campground in Marathon, and they have made improvements since our stay there. Waiting for the days when we have time to travel back there with the new 5er!
