campgrounds near Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown.

I am looking for recommendations for camping near the Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown triangle. I have a 32ft class C and would like full hookups. Thanks

Anvil Campground

Very nice campground and we enjoyed our stay, ... I think its the closest cg to the historic area and I believe they have a shuttle to it, ... they also honor Passport America

That is a great CG. Have stayed there many times. Not too far from the Visitors Center. I stay there with a 32 ft class C towing a 20 ft car trailer. There is a nice KOA, but its a ways out.

We like Chickahominy Riverfront Park, a public park operated by James City County. They have full hook-ups including 30 / 50 amp service. The campground is about 10 miles from Colonial Williamsburg.

The Frog Williamsburg Rally is staying at the American Heritage RV Park. I won't be able to say what it is like until October when the rally starts. Advertised as FHU and 50 amp.

X2; on the American Heritage RV Park. I stayed at that park in Sep 2017, friends recommend the park who live nearby. We spent 12 nights there and the site was a 50 amp, FHU, pull through site. Park is close enough to do day trips too everything you asked about and quite enough at night for my needs will of the highway.

While anvil is a nice campground, it is unfortunate that thay have an active train track right next to them. We were there years ago in a tent, right next to the tracks, the locomotive headlamp shining into the tent and them having to blow the whistle as there is a crossing close by...... During the night.... more than one......have never been back.

They only put the tents next to the tracks.

We have stayed many times at Chippokes Plantation State Park in Surry, Va. There is a ferry(no cost) that crosses the James River, taking you right into Jamestown. I don’t believe there’s sewage hookups but there is a dump station. For more info go to www.dca.virginia.gov. It’s a nice and quiet campground, not many sites. Right on the James River.

They pack the others in cheek-by-jowl. Loved my neighbor's sewer hose under my awning. Don't forget the highway on the side opposite the train tracks.

I use one in the middle as a pull through and never had someone's sewer hose under my awning.

Newport News Campground. Newport News Va. Nice wooded campground, fair prices. No sewer, a dump station. Very close to the interstate. I would check it out.

American Heritage campground located in Norge, Va is close by to the attractions asked about. Campground is well managed w/fh. As supporting members to Colonial Williamsburg we do at least one annual visit and has always been to American Heritage.

Stayed at American Heritage a few years back and would definitely stay there again, it was convenient to the all the sites and not far from the Colonial Parkway.
