camping in Gettysburg

Just camped at drummer boy. Has anybody camped at any of the other campgrounds there? Thinking of trying artillery ridge or granite hill.

The KOA is also very nice.

Camped there this spring for a long weekend and going back for a week starting Monday for the 149th Reenactment of the battle.

We stayed @ Granite Hill at the end of last month. Was not impresses by the office staff at all, in real need of social skills. Pretty park, numerous sites that tend to lack big rig clearances. Roads are narrow gravel, cable is unreliable @ best. We can't recommend this one.

There is another campground call Round Top it is located just South of Drummer Boy on Rt-15 on the right hand side, it has been a while but if you go under the overpass for RT-97 which is one of the Getteysburg exits heading South it is off to the right.

We stayed at (Artillery Ridge) for 9 days.Nice people, very convenient for our needs. We were out of the C/G most of the time, just a place to park with F/H/U. When we go back to Gettysburg,we will stay at A/R agin. Youroo!!

X2 on the KOA Kampground. We were there a few weeks ago, staff was excellent and they had a number of evening activities (the ghost stories in the evening were fun). It is a little ways outside of Gettysburg so it is very quiet in the evening.

stayed at both the KOA and at Artillery Ridge. AR has wonderful horse tours through the battlefields. The KOA is small but very comfy. DH and I enjoyed the horseshoe pits and a dip in the pool.
