Camping Near Buffalo, NY

I'm looking for recommendations for a campsite near Buffalo, NY or South. We're picking up our MH from Buffalo RV on Oct 11 and wanted to stay close to the dealer that night. If all goes well, we'll head back to Maryland on the 12th.

I stayed at Evangola State Park once awhile back. I thought it was very nice. Close to the beach, not that that matters in Buffalo in October. No full hookups though. That might be nice for testing purposes on your 1st trip.

Perhaps your dealer has some suggestions for close by CG's.

There are several KOA's from Buffalo (Niagara Falls) south to Erie, depending on how far you want to go the first night.

We also like Evangola SP as well. Some nice SP's on the shore of Ontario as well, but that is going the wrong direction.

Evangola SP is perfect.. 40 minutes from the dealer with a Wally World in-between! I'll have to figure out the dump station part....

Enjoy! Looks like this beatiful weather is going to stick around a few days. Never want to be too far from WalMart on the first trip!

As for the dump station - shouldn't be to bad. Just remember, connect hose first, pull levers second!!

I'll let the DW do it the first time... Pull lever then connect!

Your DW must have more of a sense of humor than my DW...

I'm counting on it... if not, she'll tell you how the trip went and how I "accidently" fell in the lake and such...

Several good campgrounds in the area. Chatauqua lakes is a good campground would be proably an hour south or so, has full hook ups partial lake view. Haven't done too many of the southern parks except for Lertchworth. Weather is supposed to be great up until at least Monday.. Not Indian summer yet as we have not had the hard frost.. but whose complaining

Skyline RV will not be far from where you will be picking it up. I have stayed there a few times. Nice place and they have a few full hook up sites.

We've stayed at Darien Lake & heard good things about the North Java Jellystone park but both are likely more elaborate than what you're looking for. On our pickup run last year we arranged with the dealer to stay in the trailer on site over night before heading home the following day.

Darien Lake State Park in open until October 20th. It is about 21 miles East of Buffalo RV. The rate is between $21 and $27 per night. You might want to check it out.

There really aren't any RV parks real close to Buffalo RV. Jellystone is a real nice park with a ton of amenities and it might be a good place to totally check out all the bells and whistles. Most new buyers tend to head up tp the KOA on Grand Island. You do have to go through the city of Buffalo, but that really isn't too big a deal as our traffic is pretty mild. The other hassle is that you have to cross over a toll bridge to get to Grand Island.

If you do opt for Evangola State Park, I believe that Buffalo RV has a dump station or Camping World in Hamburg definitely has one.

Enjoy your new baby and have fun in Western NY.

Evangola is reasonable, just basically an open field. There is also Lake Erie State Park (not sure if it is open that late). Also there is a KOA right off the I-90, Westfield KOA.
