Camping near Dollywood

Quite a few campgrounds in that area. Any recommendations? Going for a week in 5th wheel.

Last year we camped at Creekside, small very clean but sites backed up to the road can be noisy. We drove over and picked up the trolley to go to Dollywood but the trolley does stop at the campground. Cheaper then paying to park and they drop you off right near the entrance gate

Our go-to for that area is River Plantation. They are before you get into the traffic of Pigeon Forge, and far enough off the road it is quiet. You can hit some back roads from there and get to Dollywood without having to fight the traffic in Pigeon Forge as well.

I'll be in that area in August and reserved at Anchordown RV New RV Resort, Breathtaking Views, Fireplaces, BathHouse, STAY WITH US

I haven't been there but just from Google maps satellite The campground and spots look very easy to get into with a large fifth wheel.

We stayed at Up the Creek RV Park last summer. It was really nice and quiet but will still very convenient to Pigeon Forge. Highly recommend it.

Someone was just telling us last weekend they stayed at Anchordown recently.
They said it was, without a doubt, the best campground they had ever visited in over 30 years of camping.

It was recommended when I asked about camping near Deals Gap/Tail of the Dragon. I called a few campgrounds near Gatlinburg and told them length of our toy hauler (40 feet) and most said I would have trouble getting into the spots. Anchordown looks like it will be much easier access. It looks really nice and we are ready to be there

We stayed at Bear Cove Village. Nice and quiet, nice pool and very friendly staff. We decided to stay a few days more as the Pigeon Forge area is so beautiful.

To get to Deals Gap if you care, you can go inside the park and go to Cade's Cove and at the back there is a one way road and you come out close to Deals Gap, you should have a 4X4 to get through.

Staying near Dollywood

i agree with the post to stay at Anchor Down RV Resort. You will never find a more beautiful or cleaner campground. We were there last year just after the 4th of July. Took our breath away so beautiful. We did not want to leave. Do yourself a favor and treat your family to Anchor Down you will not be sorry.

Thumbs up

Anchor Down RV by far is the nicest place we've camped. Worth the extra drive time to get to Dollywood.

Cade's Cove and it is Rich Mountain Road. Not your everyday road.

We just stayed here over long Father's Day weekend and it was very nice and quiet. Creeks on two sides that kids can play in but no pool or playground if that's what you look for. The kids there didn't seem to miss anything. We don't have kids with us but love them.

I second this...we just got back yesterday from a week at River Plantation...it was very nice, very clean, and very quiet...we were in campsite 166!
