Camping near Martinsville VA

Anyone have any suggestions for campgrounds near Martinsville VA? Say within a 100 miles. We have camped at goose point and are gonna try fairy stone but would like to venture out a little further. Happy camping!!!!

Have you tried Mayberry in Mt. Airy NC...... Great Helpful Owners

Do not recommend Dan River RV Park in Stoneville NC the owners are not friendly.

Most of the sites are small at Fairystone

weve stayed at the Army Corps of Engineers park at Philpott Lake. Its very nice, bathrooms were very clean, nice sites, big lake side sites.

Our go to is Occoneechee SP in Clarksville, Va (easy run from M'ville). We also love the Kerr Lake Recreation area in NC ( many different SP campgrounds in one area. We like Bullocksville because it is smaller. Great swimming area and good fishing for catfish from the shore. There is also Northbend (COE) but we don't like their reservation system. You can reserve months in advance and if you decide not to go it is only a $10.00 canx fee. So what the locals do is reserve their favorite site for every weekend and then if the weather is bad they cancel and they are only out $10.00. Very difficult to get a nice waterfront site.
