Camping with the hoses on the outer banks

We are planning a trip to the outer banks this year so i do remember seeing converstations of camping with the wild horses and was wondering if anyone had any info about this.

Can you camp with a trailer ?
What is the name of the park if so ?
and any other relevant info

We haven't been there in a while, but below are some links to get you started. check out the NP's and the SP's. They offer some great beach camping.

Assateague's Wild Horses - Assateague Island National Seashore (U.S. National Park Service)

Maryland Department of Natural Resources - Maryland Park Service

Chincoteague Camping - Campgrounds near Assateague Island National Seashore and Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge

EDIT: Those links are for Maryland/Virginia not NC...

Note that the wild horses north of Corolla on the OBX...require that you either have a 4wd vehicle to traverse the beach OR that you book a guided tour. They are NOT accessible with a MH or Trailer. Here's a good list of the campgrounds/parks on the OBX. For convenience to the horses...the more northern, the better. Outer Banks Campgrounds | Outer Banks NC Camping

My sister and her husband camped at Ocean Waves Campground last August and loved it. Small and very clean. Right on the beach.
