Can I get a little space at my campsite? NC, SC campgrounds with large campsites

I'm looking for more than just the average "reach out and touch someone" type campsite. Any ideas where I can find some good spacious campsites in the NC/SC areas? I'm assuming most of them would be in the state parks, but I could be wrong...

We stayed at Pine Ridge Campground, Roebuck, SC last year, just outside of Spartanburg. The sites were roomy. Did not feel crowded at all.

We thought the sites at Huntington Beach State Park were roomy. Myrtle Beach State Park, not as. If you go to Campsite Photos . com, you can virtually see each and every private or public campsite before you book. Here's a link:

We just got back from Huntington Beach and there was plenty of space between ours and the inlaws sites for a good sized screen room for meal time. Right much shade too.

For more 'room'....

Stay away from most private CGs. (they must max their space with more campers)

For more 'room', stay AT State Parks or Federal Park Service CGs, or Corp of Engineers CGs.

X2 this! Give me a good state park or COE CG over the big national park or privates any time. Just visited Moab and Monument Valley, where we were packed in like sardines.

We really enjoy Buck Creek Campground in Marion, NC (about one hour from Asheville). It is on a nice stream, has huge fields if you want to run your dog, quiet, friendly staff and spacious sites. WIFI at all, but cable only at half.
