Castaways ocean city, md ??

Can anyone recommend some sites here. We have a 35ft 5th wheel and crew cab truck. Are the sites roughly the same? We will be staying easter wknd so I don't think it will be a full
House but never camped Easter before so who knows. Thanks

I live about 20-30 minutes from Castaways and with Easter being spring break for the schools there may be a lot camping. Can't really recommend any specific spot except to request a bigger site than needed, ie. 37ft instead of 35ft. Its a nice place to camp. We're heading further south to Myrtle Beach. Have fun and happy camping.

I have been there a bunch of times and it's nice. Almost most of the sites are the same size 45 ft long forget the width . One of my favorite sites is 182 it's on the end and you face towards the beach area and it seems to be a little bigger.

We have camped there for the past 5 years. We started with a tow behind and were able to stay in the island oasis area of the campground. We now have upgraded to a 40' fifth wheel and were told we can not fit in that area. When making reservations give them your size plus a little and they will tell you where you can go. Almost all of the sites in the middle of the campground are the same size

Yes they are very accommodating, give them your measurements and they will place you. We love it there and I don't think there is a bad site in the park!

Just a heads-up... I-68 in Cumberland has a lot of bridge construction work going on & is single, skinny lanes at times. A truck got wedged in it a couple wks ago. Traffic gets backed up at peak times.

Yep, I see the back-ups everyday. But, I'll be starting my excursion from WEST of those tie-ups. I get on I-68 in LaVale.

BTW, looking at your public profile, I think we may know some of the same people, if not one another.

That's one of our regular camp grounds. We usually do Easter there too. Not this year though. My grinch boss scheduled a promotional exam on Saturday. Fortunately we won't have to deal with him after this year!!!!!! Anyway, we have stayed at both the paved front areas and the back areas. Closer to the beach spots are smaller and hard to come by. we bumped up to a 40 foot 5th wheel last season from a TT and had no problems. It helps Castaways is only 45 minutes from my house, but we would still go there from a distance. There are several good campgrounds around there. Island Resort is another regular for us. It's near Castaways but on a huge lake with great fishing.

I am looking at campgrounds in the area, have you stayed at any of the others? How do they compare? Ocean City and Outerbanks campgrounds are more expensive than Destin or Myrtle. I wonder why.
We are thinking about state parks also, like the one with the wild horses. Anyone ever stayed there? Thanks!

Thanks for the pics and the details, Keithfirefighter. As FandRChambers says, good info!
DW is starting to inquire about going back to the beach, but she doesn't want to make the long trek to MB. This is the type of info we need to make an informed decision.

Same here Todouble. It's a real short trip for me. We love Myrtle Beach, I am just surprised OC campground are more expensive.
