Charleston South Carolina

We took our first trip. It was awesome.
Here are our suggestions for the area

Stay at James island campground. Five star all the way

Eat at snob. Slightly north of broad
Eat at magnolias

Do a walking tour or carriage tour downtown

Plantation. The one to go to is Middleton. It is legit. Take the buggy ride and do the house tour. Spend the money as you are only there once.

Do not under any circumstances eat at the noisy oyster

Fantastic trip and now looking for our next destination

I use to go a lot to Charleston for work training. Two other spots to see while there are Patriot's Point and Fort Sumner.

Yes totally forgot. We went to patriots point to and that was incredible. An employee walking past us asked us if we were enjoying ourselves and I jokingly said it would be nice to have my own private tour guide. Three hours later we had completed the tour so we made a donation on the way out for outstanding service

Bigairh20:
Thanks for the post. We are heading to Charleston SC on our first major trip from western Mass. mid April-mid May. I checked out the James Island campground's website...looks like a great place for a base camp.

Happy Trails

Also Oak Plantation cg is good. We have stayed there several times. One of the reasons we stayed at James Island this past Dec was to enjoy the free Christmas display. Also we got free parking at patriots point cause we where staying at the cg James Island. We go just about every year. Later RJD

Just made reservations for James Island site 92, May 4-12. Looking forward to our trip from western MA via I84, I81, I66, Rt17, I95 to Charleston SC May 4-12.
We are planning a week in route and a week return but haven decided on the return route as of yet. This will be our first long trip...practicing for retirement.
Looking forward to the end of hibernation.
Hope our paths cross in Charleston. Thanks for all the inputs
Just installed a 30a rec for the Windjammer's return. Need to finish the project.
