Chatahooche bend state park (ga)
We just got back from 3 nights at Chatahoochee Bend State Park in middle Georgia. It's not far off I-85 near Newnan Ga. As always, a nice GA State Park layout. Nice private spots with plenty of room. This park is only 3 years old so the trees between the campsites need to grow some, but it's not too bad as it is. A great park for hikers, canuers (sp?) and rafters. A small playground for kids. There is a entry place to get on the river here and the river is swift and wide and muddy at this point. But we are bikers so we rode 200 miles all over the area and thought it was great. Lots of great roads thru the woods and beautiful small towns. Rained Friday night, we rode Saturday but Saturday night was a huge storm and knocked out power until after midnight. Be forwarned, the wi-fi reception does not exist and neither does air TV. Phones are marginal and I did see a guy with a satellite unit run it way up on a hill but I don't know if he got anything. But we enjoyed it and we'd go back again.
