Cherry Hill Park College Park, MD

I wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts on Cherry Hill Park campground in College Park, MD, just outside of Washington DC. My family and I stayed there over the Memorial Day weekend last year. We liked what we saw, but due to daily trips into D.C. we really didn't see much of the campground.

There are a lot of positive aspects...friendly and helpful staff, spotless washrooms, nice pools, good food at the restaurant. The campsite was neat, level, and everything worked. However, it was very small with little room other than the gravel pad where the picnic table sat. When sitting at the table we were almost right under our neighbor's window.

We are thinking of going back in the next few years, but we wonder if maybe there isn't a better choice for a campground.

Stayed there for one night when returning from Florida. Also found that the sites were very tight. Can't really comment on the amenities since we were there overnight only but seemed like a very nice campground. We stayed there many years ago and I think they had transportation to DC very close by.

Yes, they had a DC bus stop with ample parking located at the entrance to the park. In addition, they sold face value Metro passes at the park store and supplied all the tourist information you could want.

We've been there 3 times just for weekend getaways. It's close by. Less than an hour. We enjoyed it but I like Morris Meadows off route 83 South of PA in MD better. It's actually the closest place to home and real nice.

The Cherry Hill Park Campground is a good place for overnight camping and stay. It is near to the Washington DC and has easy transportation system within the city.
It has many good attractions and peaceful environment for camping with comfortable accommodation facilities for visitors. I have been there twice for camping and for family wedding. The banquet hall is suitable for wedding with good arrangement and food.
