Concord NC campground

Hi everyone,

I am going to Concord NC in July, my wife is attending a conference around there and I am looking for a campground near there, anyone have a nice one they like? I know this is very near the Charlotte Motor speedway, but I am not really a race fan, I will be just shuttling the wife back and forth while my son and I goof around the area.

Thanks in advance

There is a nice RV park at the Speedway Complex that would have Plenty of Sites during Non Race periods,BUT with a Hybrid TT it might be Noisy! They have 3-4 Venues of Motor sports that could be happening at any time! Youroo!!

Thanks for the reply Youroo,

The Motor Speedway campground is the one I wanted to avoid, LOL I saw it was advertised on the search but it is not our cup of tea, although it would be nice and close for us. I was hoping for something in the area a little more quiet/average type campground someone may have stayed at they can recommend.

There is a park up near Salisbury (just up the road) called Dan Nicholas that is very nice. No sewer hook-ups and may be a bit far to travel. Also check the gate hours to make sure they are compatible with your wife's schedule. We had a couple of guys miss a meeting one time because they forgot about that.

No sewer hookups would not work for me. Nor would the gate thing. Thanks for the reply.

Well we stayed at the Tom Johnson cg. Just off interstate. It is large and yes race track about a mile away. When we where there last year no race events and quiet. Close to restaurants shopping. If it's not busy you get the whole site to your self with is two sites in one. Later RJD

Might be a bit far but check out the koa in fort mill sc. It has a pool and a jumping pillow. Not much to the campground and you will need your own fire pit but quieter than Tom johnson. Also check out the campground at Carowinds amusement park

I was going to suggest Dan Nicholas too. There is a carousel and other activities but if that won't work for you,I searched others in the area but some have check in only til 5 pm, and others don't have sewer. Wish you the best finding the right spot.
