Cooperstown, NY, Hudson, or Berkshires?

Planned trip to Cape Cod 7/17 got changed by family. Wife and I find we now have two or three extra days to travel and camp from Buffalo, NY. As the title of this post shows, can't decide whether to go to Coopertown, somewhere along the Hudson we pass over heading into Mass., or again somewhere in the Berkshires we drive, past along rt. 90, Mass Tpk heading the cape. Any suggestions would be appreciated along with CG suggestions. Thanks!

If you've never been, Cooperstown would be cool. Also, Lake George area would give close access to the Adirondaks & Berkshires.

Been to Cooperstown many many times. Great little town! Even ice fish winters there!

Booked 3 days at Hartwick Highlands CG, 5 miles outside of Cooperstown. Looking forward to finally getting there. Additionally excited to see that Ommegang Brewery is only about 3 miles from the campsite along with another close by brewery and a winery.

We were in Cooperstown last summer. It was a blast. My son played at Cooperstown Dream Park. We did not camp, but the weather was beautiful. So different from South Mississippi. Have fun!

Oh yea...If you drive into Cooperstown, beware of your parking. They write lots of tickets in that small town.

Catskills are beautiful with lots to do, but things are a little spread out. Look up Olana, East Durham, Hunter Mountain, Thomas Cole House, Kingston Historic District. Also 90 minute easy drive to Albany, with museums and other things to do. Not exactly sure what you are into. I grew up there and could maybe answer questions for you.

We were in Cooperstown recently and parked outside of town then rode a shuttle in. Riding the shuttle was quick and easy.
