Cutting Across Georgia on Hwy 84?

We are traveling from Northern VA to the Florida panhandle and typically take I-95 to I-10 west. This time we are stopping in Richmond Hill GA. Is it practical to take Hwy 17 to Hwy 84 to cut across GA to Quitman and then take Hwy 221 south to I-10?

84 is about the only way to do a short cut however I'd keep going to Thomasville then 319 south to 10. All 4 lane and mostly 60mph, We just came back from panhandle yesterday and traveled 319 part of the way. Just east of Valdosta you will run into 4 lane on 84 alway to 319. Later RJD

This time we are going to Topsail Hill in Destin. We alternate between there and Fort Pickens in Pensacola. And as always, we will stop in Savannah on the way back to stay at Skidaway.

I drive this route weekly. RV friendly roads. Do not venture off 319 south of Thomasville. Mostly canopy roads with low clearances.
