Darlington Raceway Camping

Hey all,
We are planning on going to Darlington Raceway for the race Labor Day Weekend. We have camped at Charlotte a couple times, and Pocono. We also ran bus tours to every other track on the east coast except for New Hampshire.
I have been to Darlington a few times, but never camped there. We will get a site (hopefully) in either Petty or Pearson (they go on sale in a couple weeks).
Just looking for any useful information from folks who have camped in either one.
Thanks.

We camped there had 2 spots just off turn 4 could leave the stands go to the coach use bathroom and get back to seat quicker than the people standing in line at bathroom. Haven't been since 09. Spaces are really close best seats imo are turn 4 you can feel it when they rub the wall. Camping was very organized as far as getting in. Never a problem getting out. Needed 2 spots to give me plenty of room. The spots were 45'x15' and I was in a 40' coach with 3 slides.couldn't put out awning all the way with 1 spot unless you arrived before your neighbor because everyone fudges about a foot or so. Darlington is not as fan friendly as lowes motor speedway

If I twas like last year you may find it booked. We got seats but not good ones. Now that it's back to the Labor day weekend it sold out. Later RJD

Speaking of Nascar camping, anyone have plans for camping at the Atlanta race the end of this month? I've reserved a spot in the East Turn campground.

We got seats on the front stretch near the start finish but not many left. Camping spots go on sale in a couple weeks. We'll have to make do with one spot. Our TH has one slide, 3' out. So it'll be tight with my truck in there too but we'll make it work.

We've camped in Atlanta a few times also. Back when they had 2 races, we'd go to the October race. It was a good time.

I'm jealous. Wish I was up there but the cost would kill my NASCAR budget for the entire year.

True dat, but if I pay almost $4,000 for a week of camping I'd want a lot more entertainment than a race.

Weather can be real iffy at AMS in February, but I don't see any date change. Even if Smith swapped the dates with Las Vegas it would only be one week and that probably wouldn't make a difference.

I misspoke when I said East Turn (used to camp there many years ago but now its Elliot, I think). I'm going to be in the First Turn campground down below your luxury location. I doubt if they'll let us riff-raff come up there so if you get a chance stop by. I'll be in D-10, real close to the road.
